Not all of them, just the main ones, whose intersections drive the plot.br /br /Actually, I already had a photo of Cassie, the protagonist. It’s a not-so-glamorous glamor shot of an Oscar-winning actress. The sad thoughtfulness of her expression fit the mood of Cassie. I think I’d have to say that I’m pretty haphazard about casting. When I got my cover which is a pic of the protagonist, I realized the cover artist had done a better job than me at figuring out what she looked like. 🙂

It’s a great cover 🙂 BR/BR/I think casting works (is working) for me because of what I’ve written before and the way I write. But as Jenny Crusie likes to say, there are many roads to OZ.

Umm, hello Detective Castillo.BR/BR/Tee hee!BR/BR/I cast my characters depending on the character. Nely from Switchcraft looked like Sela Ward, while Aggie resembled Giada di Laurentiis from the Food Network, As for the Orihuela sisters, they exist in my head, too. BR/BR/I’m curious, which Oscar winning actress inspired you to think of Cassie? BR/BR/Mary

  4. J.K. Mahal says:

Cassie existed on her own, but there’s a black and white photo of Angelina Jolie in which she looks oh so sad, but you can see her strength. BR/BR/I don’t imagine her in the role and I don’t imagine her when I’m writing, But the expression in the photo says a lot about the character.

  5. Louise says:

Yes. Totally. I have an entire photo file on my computer of my characters. I’m a visual writer, meaning I often have to begin writing by closing my eyes and visualizing it first. It helps me immensly to have images of my characters in my head.BR/BR/~ Weez

Weez — who do you have cast as Eric in your book? I’m curious. 🙂
